SUMMER PROGRAM

ASAP’s summer school program offers individualized instruction to preschool, elementary, and middle school age children who reside in Southeastern NC. The summer program is designed to prevent the regression of previously acquired goals, and to provide instruction in the enhancement of the public school system’s predetermined objectives. ASAP’s certified teachers develop specific programming based on information from each student’s IEP, and assistants support the teachers in accomplishing the outlined plans.

The TEACCH (Treatment and Habilitation for Autism and Communication Handicapped CHildren) method of structured teaching provides visual cues that enable the children to follow daily schedules, and to accomplish academic work tasks with clarity and predictability. ASAP utilizes an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) approach for the management and treatment of behaviors and for communication development.

ASAP Provides

  • Implementation of targeted IEP goals
  • Structured Classroom Activities
  • Group Activities
  • Sensory Play
  • Assistance with self-help skills
  • Structured music time
  • Behavioral Supports

2007 SUMMER SESSION

We are gearing up for ASAP's 2007 summer session which will be held at Alderman Elementary School this year.  We have expanded our programming and will now serve preschool through high school students.  Students will begin classes on July 16th and the last day of class is August 9th.  We are very excited and look forward to another successful summer at ASAP.

ASAP provides a highly desirable atmosphere for the children, and is committed to making the program as enjoyable as it is educational.

The program is offered at no cost to the families, but tax deductible donations are needed and welcomed.
