WELCOME TO ASAP CARES

Living with autism presents many challenges that most of us never even have to consider. Imagine how you would feel if you couldn’t tell someone that you’re not feeling well or that you don’t like what has been presented to you for dinner.  How would you feel if your bath water was too cold, and you had no way to tell anyone except by “acting out”?  The negative behaviors then become your way to communicate.

WALK FOR AUTISM - APRIL 19, 2008 TOPSAIL HIGH SCHOOL

Please join us for our first Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 19th from 9:00 - 1:00 at Topsail High School.  We will have BBQ sandwiches for sale, face painting and lots of fun for the entire family.  Proceeds will benefit ASAP's Rainbow Farms.  Please print the FLYER and send it to: ASAP, PO Box 1011, Hampstead, NC 28443 so we can order your shirt!  We look forward to seeing you on the 19th.  WALK FOR AUTISM REGISTRATION FORM.

INTRODUCING RAINBOW FARMS

ASAP purchases 5 acre farm!  Rainbow Farms will be the home for four young adults with autism who are currently living in residential facilities outside their home community of Pender, New Hanover and Brunswick counties.  Our new serene setting will offer vocational opportunities such as organic gardening, caring for livestock, and egg gathering.  A separate classroom setting will engage the participants in educational and therapeutic activities to maintain a balanced and healing environment.

It is ASAP's hope that this productive lifestyle will boost these special individual's self esteem and help them lead happy and healthy lives.

ASAP is in desperate need of your help.  We still need furniture, appliances, and therapeutic equipment in order to reach our goals.  Please respond to the "Donate Now" button at the bottom of the screen and help us make this monumental improvement to the lives of some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

ASAP TRULY CARES...

It is essential to give individuals a safe environment where they can learn to communicate their wants and needs and maximize their own individual potential. To watch someone learn to effectively communicate their needs and desires and engage in activities that promote enviable lives, and most importantly to see someone emerge from the holds of autism is an exciting and most fulfilling adventure.

Welcome to ASAP...
